Hello All, The CSSA Over-30 State Cup Final between Danbury United and Glastonbury Celtic FC was played at Falcon Field, New Britain on Tuesday evening: Danbury United 3, Glastonbury Celtic FC 2 There were 87 spectators at the game! CSSA Cup Committee Chairman Dave Carmody sends in this match report: "Danbury United scored first at 39:50 of the first half after defending several serious strikes by Glastonbury Celtic FC who hit both the post and the crossbar. "The Celtic evened the score at 51:54 in the second half. The game continued with many strikes and counter attacks of merit by both sides until a Celtic defensive lapse allowed a goal off of one of the defenders at 82:10. "The Celtic did not quit and came back with a strong series of attacks, with an equalizer at 84:15. "It appeared that the game would go to overtime but another defensive positioning slip permitted Danbury to score again at 89:10. "The Celtic continued to press for the rest of regulation and for 4 minutes of time added-on, but were unable to score. "This was the best Over-30 finals in several years in terms of the quality of play and the evenness of the competition. Both teams are to be congratulated for a fine display of talent." Thanks, Dave!
